It was a miracle for us! (2009-06-23)
Our baby had the whole newborn flinging arms thing going on and would wake herself up after only 20 mins no matter what we did. That went on for the first few months. At first we just dealt with it and spent hours rocking her back to sleep in the wee hours..UNTIL WE FOUND THIS..and VOILA!!! She started sleeping hours straight! It worked great until around 5 months when she just wiggled so much it became a wrestling match to get her in at night. But by then her newborn startle thing was gone and we just started using big swaddle blankets, loosely swaddled.
If you are having a hard time getting your baby to sleep for any great length and you suspect somehow they are waking themselves up...try this! I was so thankful that I now give it for baby shower gifts. Now I give the REAL gifts...those that help a new parent GET SOME SLEEP!!!!!!
Lifesaver!!! (2009-05-28)
We used this on my first son and it was a lifesaver! He was such a flail-y newborn and could hardly sleep because he would keep waking himself up. Consequently neither could we. Once we got him all wrapped up, he was much more content and slept so much better. I can't recommend it highly enough!!!
Insanely overpriced for such basic use (2009-05-14)
One of my first jobs as a teenager was at Taco Bell one of my duties in the kitchen was to learn to make a burrito. When my son was born, the first night at the hospital I was having a hard time getting him to stay put so I could feed him. I called the nurse in and she wrapped him in just the same technique. I asked her to show me and as she proceded to, I laughed and said, "Oh, I get it, like a burrito!" She laughed and said, "yes, just like a burrito." It's quite simple and just the images supplied on here are enough for you to learn to do this wrap with any nursing blanket. I find it ridiculous to pay so much money for something you can simply learn from a nurse at the hospital or at Taco Bell. Save your money get the blankets similar to the ones used in the hospital and wrap your kid in that. Just remember to do it tight enough for him/her to not be able to move it's little arms out of it.
Worth the money! (2009-05-12)
This blanket is well worth the money. We bought two of these from ebay.(Great to have two for when one is in the wash) My son, now 2 1/2 months, has been using it since birth. He stays swaddled all night. I am not saying that it is impossible for him to get his arms and legs out. It does happen on occasion. But this blanket is so much better than using a receiving blanket.(I was so glad to have this in the hospital when he was born.) We got a different kind of swaddling blanket at his baby shower. I tried it once and his arms were out in no time at all. It is so much smaller than the Miracle Blanket. If I tried it now, he would not fit in it. But he is still using his Miracle Blanket (and he is not a small boy... he is in the 75th percentile for weight and height). In fact we tried to put him to bed without it tonight because it is a warm night. But he cried and cried for a good half hour (not normal for him, I might add.) Finally I suggested to my husband, who was putting him to bed, to try the blanket and just blast the air on him. He stopped crying in minutes and was out like a light!
Miracle blanket (2009-03-11)
This blanket IS a miracle. My daughter wouldn't sleep & cried all of the time until I started using this blanket. It really keeps them swaddled tight & holds there arms in till about 4mo. old. It was a life saver.
